Let's get the basics!
Name: Caroline Johnpulle

Tell us about your day to day role...
In my role as a Technical Analyst, I am focused on providing support to a designated Financial Planner, Robert Schwarz. I have my sights set on becoming a Financial Planner in the next few years so I take on new aspects of the process as much as possible. I often work collaboratively with Rob to decide upon the best advice we can give to clients, I ensure I go into our meetings with an idea of what I think would be the best route forward. I am also responsible for a lot of the implementation of the Financial Plans that we agree with our clients, from investing funds, to ensuring suitability documents are completed. I also assist in client meetings and get stuck into solving complicated problems to ensure our clients are getting the best possible outcome.
What is your long term goal?
Being part of a business that provides training and also coaching, means I have big goals for myself. I am currently in the process of completing exams to become a qualified Financial Planner. I am passionate about helping people and I feel lucky that my job involved using my skills in a way that positively affects the lives of people. I am also interested in pushing our business to become fully sustainable. I was heavily involved with our recent B Corp certification, and continue to head up initiatives to ensure our business is pioneering the way towards a better future for all.
What are you passionate about?
Sustainability. This goes back as far as I can remember. I grew up in Canada and I have always believed that we should take care of nature and our environment to make sure we all have a world to grow up in, now and in the future. I feel like this is something I am continuously learning about and isn't something we can ever master in the modern world, as there is always better and more sustainable ways to do things. I would like to think the footprint I leave on the world is a positive one.
Advice for people entering the profession?
Becoming a Financial Planner is not just about passing exams, it has as much to do with the soft skills you acquire along the way as it does the certificates you achieve. I am on that process right now and it is a constant battle between on the job training and independent study time, but both are equally as important to becoming excellent in the profession.
What do you do in your spare time?
Outside of work I like to keep fit and healthy by going the gym and practising Ashtanga yoga. I enjoy spending time with my friends, cooking and tasting new cuisines. I absolutely love cooking Japanese food and have become a master at dumplings! Before COVID-19, I enjoyed travelling and experiencing new cultures and traditions in person.
Tell us something about you that not many people know...
I used to compete in karate as a kid and even won a competition!
